Ph.D. or anticipated Ph.D. by the the start of the 2020 fall term in Criminal Justice or a related field from an accredited college or university. All candidates must be eligible for employment in the Unites States. The candidate selected can expect to teach a wide range of criminal justice courses.Preferred:
Focus in courts, judicial system, law enforcement, and forensic science.Primary Responsibilities:
Teaching responsibilities would include 12 credit hours (usually 4 courses) each semester of undergraduate courses in criminal justice. The ability and willingness to teach face-to-face, teleconference, and online in a dynamic environment with a diverse student population. In addition, service to the department, college, university and profession through committee assignments and other appropriate avenues is expected as well as student advising and program assessment.
Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.Other Information:
Nine month tenure track position. Summer employment is possible. This position is security sensitive.
Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.

Rio Grande College (RGC) is an upper level teaching division of Sul Ross State University with campuses in Del Rio, Eagle Pass and Uvalde. RGC is a non-residential university offering undergraduate and graduate courses in the Humanities, Behavioral and Natural Sciences, Business, and Education. RGC serves approximately 1,000 students per semester in the middle Rio Grande region. Most students are part-time, first generation in college students.
