Faculty member/administrator who serves as an instructional leader and manages the instructional and operational processes of the ADN department. In addition to teaching, a Division Chair’s major responsibilities include, but are not limited to: strategic planning and implementation; personnel supervision; budget preparation and management; facilities and materials management; course and program development; and functions related to the planning, scheduling, and evaluation of course offerings; assessment and evaluation for institutional reporting.

This position is for a 9 month contract with a 10 week extension to begin mid-August 2020. Travel may be required to other off-site locations. Subject to criminal background check. Required Education

Master’s Degree in Nursing or higher

Required Skills & Abilities

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Exhibition of respect and professionalism in a spirit of collegiality.
Microsoft Office proficient.
Ability to promote an effective environment for learning in lecture and lab experiences.
Ability to teach students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.

Preferred Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of online delivery methods, principles and techniques

Required Experience

Experience in an ADN program.
Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Texas, plus 3 years of experience.
Previous teaching experience.

Preferred Experience

Two years of teaching experience within the community college setting or other comparable higher education / administration setting.
Experience with nursing accreditation agencies (e.g. ACEN and CCNE) and state Board of Nursing.
Experience with distance and/or hybrid education.
