Salary Range / Other:

The Hourly Range: $58.21 – $93.06
Doctorate Range: $68.60 to 95.51

Personnel new to the District are limited to a maximum 10th step placement based on previous experience: $90.37.

Benefits:

With the exception of Workers’ Compensation benefits; this classification is not eligible for District paid benefits.

Scope of Assignment:

Teach Sign Language course(s) at the community college leve

Minimum Qualifications:

DISCIPLINE IN WHICH A MASTER’S DEGREE IS NOT GENERALLY EXPECTED OR AVAILABLE BUT
REQUIRES A RELATED BACHELOR’S WITH TWO YEARS OF EXPERIENCE OR AN ASSOCIATE DEGREE WITH SIX YEARS OF EXPERIENCE.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience in deaf education or interpretation. Current knowledge of issues in ASL. Experience training others in ASL.

Example of Duties:

Teach courses in American Sign Language. Instructor must be fluent in ASL and the American Manual Alphabet. Prepare students to communicate with and interpret for deaf people
