The Economics Department in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Redlands invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in the history of economic thought, beginning September 2020. This non-tenure track position will be composed of a one-year position that can be extended an additional two years with successful performance.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a Ph.D. in economics by the time of hire, research and teaching interests in one or more of the following fields: the history of economic thought, methodology, heterodox approaches, macroeconomics and monetary economics. The ideal candidate will also have a proven intellectual disposition to work across disciplines. The successful candidate will be asked to teach six courses per year, including principles of economics, history of economic thought, and elective(s) of their choosing.
The department of economics is especially interested in candidates whose teaching and research will contribute to the department’s commitment to pluralism. Applicants are asked to identify their strengths and experiences in assisting diverse student populations to accomplish curricular goals.
