Position description

The Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing is seeking applicants for a Non-Senate Health Sciences (HS) Clinical Faculty member at the Associate or Full Professor level. This position will hold the administrative title of Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program Director, where the Director is responsible for managing the DNP Program, including all associated NP tracks. The DNP Director will serve as a critical member in the School’s Executive Committee Leadership Team.

Applicants must demonstrate strong leadership experience in an academic setting, including serving on committees, the ability to provide innovative approaches to academic development, and exhibit commitment to teaching and mentorship. The School is also looking for a dynamic and collaborative leader who has shown an established track record for developing high quality university-level curriculum designed for the classroom, online, or hybrid platforms.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
Candidates are required to have a terminal doctoral degree in nursing such as a DNP, PhD or DNSc (EdD will also be considered), hold an active and unrestricted California RN license and BRN certification as a nurse practitioner, and be nationally board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC or FNP-C, (PREFERRED). Candidates must additionally have experience in APRN program leadership, clinical and didactic teaching, as well as exhibit a record of scholarship. Candidates must be actively engaged in clinical practice.

Applicants should submit complete applications that include the following: Statement of Teaching, Teaching Evaluations, Cover Letter, Curriculum Vitae, and 3-5 references written by superiors and/or academic advisors. Additionally, candidates must submit a statement on previous and/or potential contributions to diversity, equity and inclusion. The statement should be 1-2 pages in length and describe actions taken to advance diversity, equity and inclusion in service, teaching, or research/creative activity.
