Nurse Practitioner IICenter for Sport

Location: New Orleans, LA

Summary

For Tulane's Center for Sport Clinical Programs, the Nurse Practitioner performs a variety of services ranging from primary patient care to health assessment, planning, teaching, counseling, and clinic management. The Nurse Practitioner works with former professional athletes and military veterans with acute illnesses and injury and chronic stabilized illnesses. Duties include but are not limited to: performing physical exams, recording patient medical histories, creating patient care plans, administering diagnostic tests, and administering medicines and treatments. This position is also responsible for supervision of medical and nursing staff assigned to the clinic. 

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an ANA-approved Nurse Practitioner program with national certification
• Louisiana licensure to practice professional nursing plus recognition or licensure by the State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the date of hire
• Master's Degree in Nursing
• Three years of full-time professional clinical nurse experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with high profile athletes, military veterans and their families
• Cardiovascular Research and/or Practice experience
• Traumatic Brain Injury Research and/or Practice experience
