Position Status: Full-Time
Position Summary:
Continuing Education (Savannah, GA). The Program & Event Specialist assists in the coordination of programs and events on the Armstrong Campus, to include: youth camps, educational programs, and events put on by internal and external groups.
Essential Functions
- Gains an understanding of and adheres to all University policies, rules, and guidelines pertaining to youth on campus and hosting events on campus.
- Works collaboratively with Athletics, Campus Recreation, Housing, Dining, and other campus resources to manage the needs of both internal and external camps, programs, and events.
- Assists with hiring, training, and supervising student workers.
- Handles questions, problems, and concerns of clients before and during camps, programs, and events.
- Works closely, cooperatively, and amicably with all staff members and external groups.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission and strategic initiatives of the university and the division.

Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree
Could a level of job-related experience higher than the minimum required for the position substitute for the minimum level of education?: No
Minimum Experience Required:
Two or more years of related work experience, to include working with youth programs
Could a level of education higher than the minimum required for the position substitute for the minimum level of job-related experience?: No
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Effective communication skills (verbal and written); developed organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; and successful completion of background investigation prior to employment
Preferred Education:
Master’s Degree
Preferred Experience::
Three years of experience working in youth programs and higher education
Salary Range: $33,300
