The University of Virginia invites applications for a Medical Physicist to provide clinical medical physics support to the Department of Radiation Oncology and its associated facilities. Clinical responsibilities entail the full suite of routine and specialized clinical medical physics activities including external beam and brachytherapy quality assurance, treatment plan checks, chart checks, patient quality assurance, and dosimetry consults. Our clinic features Varian linacs and brachytherapy, Tomotherapy, and is installing a Viewray MR Linac.
Rank for this tenure ineligible position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Doctoral faculty members are expected to participate in the departmental teaching as well as initiate and participate in advanced development projects which blend with other division activities.

Education: M.S. degree or Ph.D. degree, completed prior to hire, in Medical Physics, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
Certification: Candidates must be board certified or board eligible (minimum part 1 completed) in Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).
Experience: Prior clinical medical physics or clinical medical physics residency experience in radiation oncology is required. The ability to work in a team environment, leadership qualities, and problem-solving skills are highly valued.
This is a restricted position; continuation is dependent on funding and satisfactory performance.
