This role is envisioned as a 2-3 year position for a new or recently graduated PhD (or masters-level researcher with 3-5 years of experience) to gain robust experience with a successful and high-achieving research group.Job Description
Research Specialist D will be integrated into the research program in the Division of Family Planning in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This dynamic and dedicated team includes 4 faculty members, 2 fellows, and 8 full-time research staff housed within a busy family planning clinic, primarily serving women of reproductive age. The successful applicant will bring their background in reproductive biology to contribute to translational investigations of abnormal pregnancy, early pregnancy failure, abortion, and complex contraception.
Prior experience in basic or translational research is required. Skills in clinical and translational research, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, cell signaling, stem cell biology, cellular metabolism, proteomics, and/or immunology are critical. Applicants should have strong writing skills (evidenced by authorship of scientific manuscripts), a high degree of professionalism and independence, and an interest in developing and exploring research questions related to women’s reproductive health. Biostatistical analysis (Stata preferred) and data management experience is desired.

The Research Specialist will support the research integrated with the clinical program at PEACE (Pregnancy Early Access Center). Our mission is to provide access to compassionate care for women and families seeking family planning care and management of early pregnancy complications such as miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, and undesired pregnancy. Our Division Chief and lead researcher is Dr. Courtney Schreiber, MD, MPH, whose overarching career goal is to support the reproductive health and lives of underserved women.
Position is contingent upon funding.
Qualifications
Master's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience in basic or translational research or equivalent combination of education and experience required. PhD with 1-2 years of related experience preferred. Degree must be in reproductive biology, cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, or related fields.
