This is a full-time, NIH-funded PostdoctoralAssociate position in the Department of Pharmacology at the University ofColorado Anschutz Medical Campus, in Aurora, CO. The fellow will report to Dr. Mair Churchilland will work in her structural biology research group.The position will focus on understanding the mechanisms underlying chromatin structure and its assembly. Duties will involve development and implementation of methods to determine structures, interactions and functions of histone chaperones. In addition to performing experiments, the fellow will write and prepare manuscripts for publication; and the fellow is expected to pursue extramural funding to help support their research project.
This positionis in the professional field of Biochemistry and Structural Biology. The laboratory studies structural and mechanistic aspectsof gene regulatory systems in eukaryotes using biochemical, biophysical, and structuralmethods.
This positionmay train Professional Research Assistants, Graduate Students and StudentWorkers, with specific biochemistry or structural biology techniques.

This positionrequires knowledge of structural biology, X-ray crystallography, NMR, electronmicroscopy, biochemistry, protein chemistry, biophysics, mass spectrometry,molecular biology to differing degrees. This position requires problem solving skills, as well as scientificaptitude and creativity.
Candidatesare expected to have a Ph.D. in Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry,Pharmacology, or have investigated a closely related field for their Ph.D.research project. Evidence of a strong commitment to research from strongpublications and letters of reference is required.
