Manager, Database Engineering Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 202001091101 Full Time 8AM - 5PM Commensurate with Experience Position Information The Information Technology Solutions department is looking for an innovative, driven, self-directed leader to actively manage a database team in supporting Oracle and MSSQL. In this role the Manager, Database Engineering will lead a team focused on product development, customer projects, database maintenance and support services. There is strong emphasis on moving to the Cloud and strengthening our Infrastructure agility. The candidate will help build out our Cloud offerings and will help advance our overall database operational capabilities. You will coach and develop talent to support Cloud/On-premise databases skills. You will also work with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure that databases deployed, both in the cloud and on premises, are performing, secure, and available. The salary offer will be commensurate with experience within the budgeted range of $86,500 to $115,000. Minimum Requirements Has solid interpersonal and management skills. Demonstrated skill in managing technical staff.
Requires solid ability to communicate highly technical information in a clear and concise manner to both technical and nontechnical personnel.
Knowledge of conceptual database design.
Has solid knowledge of related principles and concepts to provide solutions to more complex and diverse information systems issues. Solid knowledge of the applications programming development function.
In-depth knowledge of various areas of IT. Broad knowledge of the IT environment. Has solid knowledge of information systems function.
Knowledge of test application code in client server environment.
Knowledge necessary to design, set up, operate and correct malfunctions involving technology systems.
Advanced knowledge of secure software development. Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Solid ability to gather, organize, and analyze data in the completion of assignments.
Advanced knowledge of computer security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing server-based software.
Working knowledge in operations, maintenance and support preferably with Database technology, and Cloud, Virtual, and Physical platform environments or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
In-depth knowledge of project planning methodologies and tools and IT standards and guidelines; knowledge of management concepts, practices and techniques.
Working Knowledge with Agile/Dev Ops methodologies and tools, and IT Project Management.
Ability to manage, tune, and implement Structured Query Language (SQL) / Oracle databases.
Ability to troubleshoot complex performance issues through analysis of Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) reports, wait statistics, server metrics, etc.
Ability to work with DataGuard and/or AlwaysOn replication technologies.
Knowledge working with Oracle 12c or higher, Pluggable Databases, Recovery Manager (RMAN).
Ability to work in both a Linux and Windows server environments.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of working with Cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Service (AWS) and Azure.
