Fieldwork includes but is not limited to helping plant, maintain turf grasses and ornamentals as well as sampling field trials for insects and various plant measurements. Lab work includes but is not limited to sorting and inspecting plant samples for insects and other organisms and various other measurements. Data entry and Excel spreadsheets also is expected.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

High school Diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience in horticulture or a related area. Other training will be provided as appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Work with or without supervision.

Physical Demands

Bend and lift up to 50 lbs, use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; work in a laboratory for multiple hours a day. Intermittent out-of-town travel to research plots during the workday.
