Adjunct Faculty Digital Art and Design

The Art Department of the School of Music, Drama and Art at The Catholic University of America seeks applicants to teach an introductory digital art and design course in the Fall 2020 semester.

To be considered, applicants must have been awarded an MFA from a nationally accredited institution or a comparative degree. The applicant must commit to teaching 5 contact hours per week. Enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching is a must. Applicant must have demonstrated knowledge of digital art and design education, experience and skills, including use of the Adobe Creative Suite. Applicants should have experience in fields such as graphic design, animation, video art, photography or new media. A link to an online portfolio must be submitted. Alternatively, images may be shared via dropbox or wetransfer links.

The Department of Art maintains a state of the art computer lab serving all areas of digital art and design. Students have access to a wide array of industry-standard software and equipment, including the full Adobe CC creative suite, Wacom tablets, large-format photo printers, lighting equipment, and numerous HD video cameras. Our introductory digital art and design courses teach students basic design fundamentals through the use of digital media.

Additional compensation is available for senior thesis advising, and/or oversight responsibilities of the aforementioned digital art lab. Further details will be provided to successful applicants.
