Overall Description ofResponsibility or Nature of Work

This position reportsdirectly to the David Bentley, PH.D. Professor in the Department of Biochemistryand Molecular Genetics and Co-Director RNA Bioscience Initiative (RBI).

 Specific Position Dutieswith Percentages of Time

[100]%  The post-doctoral fellow will investigatemechanisms of transcriptional deregulation in Down Syndrome using unique twiniPSC’s. This research will use cutting edge experimental and computational approachesto study RNA polymerase II function and coupled co-transcriptional processesincluding chromatin immunoprecipitation, and RNA-seq methods including NET-seq 1-5. Candidates arestrongly encouraged to pursue creative ideas and direct independent lines ofresearch with input from Dr. Bentley and other lab members.

 The post-doctoral  fellow willcontribute to the scientific community in the Bentley lab, the Department ofBiochemistry and Molecular Genetics and the RBI by attending and presenting atweekly lab meetings and departmental seminars.  


Salary and Benefits:Stipends will be above the NIH recommended pay scale. The University of Colorado offers a full benefits package. Minimum Requirements:

·        PhD degree in biological sciences, or a related field
