The Research Associate II supports the Department’s goals by compiling data reports and responding to ad-hoc information requests. The role of this position is to write programming and compile data for submission of government compliance reporting requirements, internal and external data requests, and other IR related activities.

  • Queries, compiles, transforms, and cleans data from multiple data sources, including large relational databases and flat files
  • Produces routine and customized reports to respond to College needs
  • Completes internal and external ad-hoc information requests
  • Translates user requests into technical specifications for programming
  • Manages datasets and collaborates with Senior Analysts to resolve encountered issues with data
  • Develops and implements data quality assurance procedures
  • Updates, automates, and documents data and business processes
  • Prepares clear and effective reports and presentations using data visualization tools
  • Assists Senior Research Analysts in conducting and reviewing related research activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Master’s degree in appropriate field and one (1) year of related experience; or Bachelor's degree in appropriate field and five (5) years of related experience
  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in SAS programming or related programming language with ability to write programs
  • Practical experience with reporting, analysis, and data visualization tools (Excel,Tableau, Power BI, SQL, RStudio, R, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and deliver reports in a timely manner
  • Familiarity with educational data files and ERP system elements (PeopleSoft preferred)
  • Ability to apply concepts of descriptive statistics
  • Possess writing skills required to prepare clear programming requests, memos, and reports
  • Detailed oriented
  • Possess strong interpersonal, communication, and user orientation skills
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with staff, faculty, administrators, and students at all levels
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekend
