Minimum Qualifications:Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree or 5+ year experience of working in higher education
- Prior experience with common higher education ERPs such as PeopleSoft or Banner.
- Experience with reporting tools and reporting concepts commonly used in higher education.
The Data Literacy Coordinator will be part of a high-performance business institutional research and focused on providing education, training and resources to the UGA campus community to increase the understanding about institutional data, appropriate use of data, and data quality. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of how data generated about the University enterprise is created, curated, presented, and consumed. The candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and be able to create a data literacy focused curriculum for campus users of data resources. The successful candidate will collaborate with others within the Office of Institutional Research and technical and functional resources in other units to create and maintain trainings and educational resources designed to increase UGA’s data literacy and use of data as a decision-informing tool.

- Establish best practices for the consumption of data and reports
- Provide feedback to data stewards, data custodians, data trustees, and report creators about end-user needs.
- Work with technical and functional resources to understand the business processes of a higher education organization that generate institutional data.
- Manage and maintain data definitions for variables used in institutional reporting.
- Create opportunities for feedback that improve the quality of data in the institutional data set.
- Maintain technical support documentation as necessary.
