Wolfson Chair in Communication

The Department of Journalism and Media Management in the School of Communication at the University of Miami is seeking a new colleague to serve as the Frances Louise Wolfson Chair in Communication, starting in August 2021. This full-time faculty position is a non-tenure earning Professional Practice line with a focus on journalism. A graduate degree is required, as is an exceptional record of producing significant journalistic work (as evidenced by an award-winning portfolio).

The department seeks an accomplished storyteller and broadcast journalist to enhance our efforts in educating students in the art and science of engaging audiences across a variety of media platforms. We seek a high-level professional who brings demonstrated skills and experience both nationally and internationally. The ideal candidate will have an interest and experience in digital media and streaming platforms as well as a strong broadcasting experience, management experience, and a passion for encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship. The department is interested in capitalizing on topical areas of particular relevance to South Florida. Experience with both long-format work as well as to day-to-day reporting and producing is desirable.
