SUMMARY:

Attendant is responsible for Weinstein Center Member Services operations during assigned shifts. Primary responsibilities include providing excellent customer service and information to all Weinstein Center members, assigning lockers, distributing and collecting informal recreation equipment, and registering members for programs and services including processing cash/check/Spidercard payments. Create accounts and enroll members in the hand biometrics system using the member services software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide excellent customer service while serving as the first point of contact for members.
  • Greet members while checking their membership status for entrance into the facility.
  • Provide current program and schedule information to members by telephone and in-person. Answer questions and distribute printed materials as needed.
  • Utilize the member services software to enroll members in a variety of Health and Well-being programs or services.
  • Responsible for daily cash flow through the Fusion program and works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Enroll members in the hand biometrics system.
  • Understand and enforce University Recreation policies and procedures.
  • Provide accurate membership information to prospective members. Lead tours of the facilities when needed.
  • Distribute and collect informal recreation equipment following all check-out procedures.
  • Document and assign lockers and combinations for all locker rooms inside the Weinstein Center.
  • Process daily racquetball and squash court reservations.
  • Process all daily guest fee transactions and completion of required paperwork and waivers.
  • Document and store all lost & found items.
  • Work with a diverse group of people to include, but not limited to: students, faculty/staff and community members
  • Follow all emergency procedures in compliance with the risk management plan. Comply with all University Recreation TEAM Member guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent customer service skills and experience with cash handling
  • Must be able to perform basic computer functions including internet searching, email, word, excel; must be able to learn FUSION software to perform Member Service functions
  • Current CPR/AED certification required within 30 days of employment
  • Dependable and able to work a flexible schedule

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Some High School
  • Experience with cash handling preferred
  • Experience with customer service/retail preferred

WORK HOURS:

  • Part-time, temporary, non-exempt position
  • Scheduled as needed for shifts Monday-Sunday
  • This position works less than 1,000 hours per year

SALARY STRUCTURE:
Pay Grade 1 ($14.00 per hour)
