Description

The Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, in association with the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior and the Greater Los Angeles VA (GLAVA) Healthcare System, is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-equivalent faculty position in Clinical Care and Addiction Research at the Associate or Full Professor rank. The position involves active leadership of clinical services and collaboration with established substance abuse investigators at UCLA and the VA. Demonstrated programmatic leadership and capacity to develop an independent, NIH-funded program of clinical research in the area of substance abuse is required. Teaching responsibilities will include residents, medical students and graduate and postdoctoral students.

Expertise applying human laboratory approaches (i.e., phase I and early phase II clinical research) to treatment development is required. Excellent mentoring and teaching skills are required. Applicants should have a demonstrated record of publication in the area of addiction research as well as success in obtaining research grants. Candidates must possess or be eligible for a permanent California medical license and must be board-certified or board-eligible in psychiatry.
