Knox College seeks a technologically-savvy, resourceful, and driven individual to join the Student Financial Services team. Members of our team work with prospective and current students and their parents, assisting them in applying for financial aid, managing the costs of college, and guiding them toward successful completion of a Knox degree. Title and compensation will be based on relevant experience.

As the successful candidate, you would provide a full range of financial aid counseling services; analyze and verify financial aid applications; award financial aid based on federal, state, and institutional policies; participate in outreach activities both on- and off-campus; and assist families in managing the costs of college and ensuring timely payments. You will also play a key role in utilizing new technologies and leading initiatives to help us improve the delivery of financial aid, student billing, payment plans, and related services.


  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
  • Commitment to excellent customer service and retention
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and apply federal regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in the use of information technology and the delivery of online services
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Willingness to work additional hours during peak financial aid processing and student billing seasons
  • An appreciation for a residential liberal arts education, respect for individual differences, openness to the values and opinions of others, and flexibility to adapt to constant change
  • Experience in financial aid, student accounts, or higher education is preferred. Candidates with experience in accounting, business, financial services, or related fields are also encouraged to apply
