Job Description

The Clinical Research Coordinator A will assist in the coordination of IND/IDE clinical trials for the Center for Precision Surgery (joint project with UPHS, HUP, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC), and Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH), Center for Human Phenomic Science (CHPS), Investigational Drug Services at UPHS, HUP and PAH. This position will provide support to both drug study and device trials including data entry, organizing, maintaining and assuring the accuracy of all study documentation. The Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for completing case report forms (CRFs), responding to queries in a timely manner, submission of AEs and SAEs to the sponsor, ACC, FDA, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) per protocol. The Clinical Research Coordinator will provide support in the research clinic to screen patients, explain the trial to the patient and family, determine eligibility, consent and enroll patients. The Clinical Research Coordinator will conduct phone interviews if necessary. The Clinical Research Coordinator will prepare a patient specific study calendar that outlines the steps (visits, procedures, labs etc.) required to participate in the trial; participate and prepare for meetings and site visits (site evaluations, initiations, monitoring, closure and audits). The Clinical Research Coordinator will complete relevant training to function in the role including electronic databases, regulatory activities, processing and shipping specimens, and potentially phlebotomy.

The Clinical Research Coordinator B will have the responsibilities described above working with minimal to no staff supervision; and, be responsible for training and mentoring other research staff.

This is a two (2) year position and is contingent on continued funding.


Qualifications
Clinical Research Coordinaor A: Bachelor's Degree with 1-2 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Clinical Research Coordinator B: Bachelor's Degree with 2-4 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
