Weber State University, an open-admission university, is dedicated to helping students of all ages and backgrounds realize their goals and aspirations. For us, this isn’t a platitude—we serve nearly 30,000 students from some of the most ethnically and economically diverse cities in Utah, the Intermountain West, and beyond. The University cultivates remarkably personalized teaching and mentoring, scholarly endeavors, creative activities, and engaged learning throughout our 225 undergraduate certificate and degree programs, 15 graduate degrees, and a first, recently added doctoral program. Along with its mission of higher education, the University is a community leader. Whether it is volunteer service, outreach, economic development, or just making Utah a better place to live, Weber State does it all in collaboration with our community partners.

WSU’s central campus in Ogden, Utah, is 35 miles north of Salt Lake City and situated in the foothills of the spectacular Wasatch Mountains, where outdoor recreation opportunities abound. As the cultural center for northern Utah, with state of the art facilities across campus, Weber State University, and particularly the Lindquist College of Arts and Humanities, has developed a well-known speakers’ series, and regularly features world-class performers, artists, and touring groups in the Kimball Visual Arts Center, the Val A. Browning Center for the Performing Arts, and Elizabeth Hall, home to the humanities.

The Dean of the Lindquist College of Arts and Humanities serves as academic leader for the College within a university environment that fosters collaboration and shared governance. The College is one of the region’s leaders of student-centered teaching and research that investigates the human experience. It aims to educate students to become responsible global citizens who are creative and critical artists, performers, and communicators. As the largest college on campus, with more than 100 full-time faculty, it serves nearly 2,000 undergraduate majors and 200 graduate students. It offers undergraduate degree programs in five areas: Communication, English, Foreign Languages, Performing Arts (dance, music, and theatre), and Visual Art and Design. Master’s degrees are offered in Communication and English.
