Associate/Full Professor, Pancreatic Cancer Research
Applications are invited for an endowed chair faculty position in pancreatic cancer research at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Cancer Biology at the University of Toledo, College of Medicine and Life Sciences. We are specifically seeking an outstanding scientist whose research focuses on pancreatic cancer, ideally PDAC. The University of Toledo, College of Medicine and Life Sciences has been experiencing a phase of growth and expansion with its precision cancer research and treatment initiatives, offering opportunities for translational cancer research and collaborations with physician scientists at both the Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center and ProMedica Health Systems.
Candidates are expected to have a substantial record of research accomplishments, active grant funding, and willingness to contribute to graduate and medical education. State of the art laboratory spaces and generous start-up funds will be provided.
Education/experience/licensing:
-Ph.D. or M.D. degree with impressive research accomplishments is required
-Minimum 3-4 years research experience at the cellular and/or molecular level on topics relevant to cancer biology and experimental therapeutics is required
-High quality publications are required
-Ability to collaborate with one or more existing faculty members in the department is required
-Ability to lead a laboratory team and to work in a collegial manner with departmental personnel are required
-A substantial record of research accomplishments, active grant funding, and willingness to contribute to graduate and medical education are required
-Strong potential to compete for additional extramural funding is required
Communication and other skills:
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, required
