A research lab manager position is available in the Varelas Laboratory at the Boston University School of Medicine. The lab studies epithelial and immune biology with a focus on understanding deregulated signals associated with diseases such as cancer.

The Lab Manager will support the Principal Investigator in the organization and maintenance of the laboratory (inventory of lab supplies), handling the purchases of lab equipment and supplies, and manage the lab's mouse colony (animal breeding, coordinate and validated genotyping results). The Lab manager will also conduct research experiments (western blots, PCR, ELISAs, flow cytometry) and train students in these methods including help with trouble shooting. They will further assist the Principal Investigator with preparation of publication-grade data figures for manuscripts and research grants and assist with literature searches.

Required Skills:

Bachelors degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, etc.) required, Master’s degree preferred. 0 to 12 months experience with research animals (mice) and Microsoft Office. This is a grant funded position.
