Provides high-level leadership and support, develops and implements long-range goals and objectives, assists in achieving strategic initiatives related to applicable human resources functions and provides advice to the director. Ensures that the internal operations of the unit are organized and run efficiently and keeps director informed of significant developments and initiatives involving relative programs.

Responsible for the implementation of the University’s Diversity and Inclusion initiatives by assisting with the design, planning and coordination of programs related to diversity. Serves on the President’s Council for Diversity and Inclusion, providing support to the director in the administration of the Council, to include serving as the liaison to faculty/staff affinity groups. Serves on the campus National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) team and provides support to the director in the transaction of NCBI business, to include attending meetings, managing training schedule and communicating with participants. Provides support for collaborative activities with University partners. Maintains the University’s Diversity and Inclusion web page. Works on special projects related to Diversity and Inclusion with specific responsibility of the Equity Report, the Heed Award application, and the Mini-Grant program.

Assists in the management of compliance related activities, to include maintaining data and generating reports that assess the effectiveness of campus-wide equity and diversity programs and services. Assists in the development, maintenance and facilitation of training in support of equity and diversity. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications Bachelors degree and four years of experience in human resources, equity and diversity or a related field; or a high school diploma/equivalency and eight years of experience in human resources, equity and diversity or a related field.

(Note: or a combination of post high school education and human resource experience equal to eight years in same areas.)

Experience working with underrepresented and under-served populations.

Experience with program management with a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of race/ethnicity/class/gender.

Demonstrated ability to plan and implement educational and informational programs in a diverse cultural environment.

Strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate and collaborate effectively with a broad range of constituencies including students, staff, faculty and community members.

Working knowledge of social justice training and diversity education.

Computer skills involving databases, spreadsheets, word processing, web based interactive communications, social media and/or other applications utilizing software applicable to function.

Understanding of complex organizational structures.Preferred Master's Degree

Experience in building professional partnerships with university departments, student groups and community partners.Pay Plan This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.Criminal Background Check This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
