The Department of Philosophy at Smith College invites applications for a one-year, half-time, benefits eligible position at the rank of Lecturer to begin July 1, 2020.  Teaching responsibilities for this position will involve three courses, ideally one in the Fall, two in the Spring. Candidates should have a strong foundation in Africana Philosophy, Native American Philosophy, Latin American Philosophy, non-Buddhist Indian Philosophy, or Chinese Philosophy, with competence in Ethics. Ph.D. or ABD in Philosophy or a related field  is expected by the time of appointment. Candidates from groups underrepresented in Philosophy are particularly encouraged to apply.
