Position Description:
The School of Dentistry seeks an individual with strong interpersonal skills to serve as its Assistant Facilities Planning Manager. Under the general supervision of the Facilities Planning Manager, the successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for facilities and telephone issues at the School of Dentistry and the off-site property, Venice Dental Clinic (VDC) in Venice. This employee will be responsible for the day to day operation of the buildings, including maintenance, and space inventory for Dentistry, managing multiple telephone systems for clinics, teaching spaces, administrative offices, and laboratories; housekeeping services; oversee School's equipment management. This employee will conduct site visits/building inspections for both locations as directed. The incumbent will work on all duties related to selected renovation/construction projects. This person must have the ability to perform effectively with frequent interruptions, conflicting demands, distractions and fluctuating workloads. The incumbent is expected to possess and employ superior time management skills. As part of this position, the employee will also work with Campus and School resources such as Environmental Health and Safety, Finance, Facilities Management, and other Campus resources on a variety of issues; handle issues related to the School/CHS building; troubleshooting a variety of issues and providing back up support functions as needed.
