The Assistant Director of Campus Life is a new full-time, exempt position on our growing and diverse urban liberal arts campus. The position coordinates multiple programs and operations in Campus Life, manages the Turner Lynch Campus Center, and serves as a deputy conduct officer. The Assistant Director works closely with campus safety, student involvement, and residence life and is supervised by the Associate Dean of Students.

Job Responsibilities

  • Direct the Student Support Team that is focused on early alert and intervention.
  • Select, train and coordinate the Student Conduct Board
  • Coordinate response to student concerns and complaints including parking appeals
  • Collaborate with the director of campus safety to document reporting and appeals. Supports the director in policy and procedure development.
  • Organize assessment and data for the division of campus life and coordinate the bi-annual student survey in conjunction with institutional research.
  • Coordinate all physical and programming needs of the Turner Lynch Campus Center. Connect the departments of Campus Life, A_Lab, Campus Store, and Dining as building stakeholders.
  • Manage all Turner Lynch Campus Center student workers and create a dynamic array of programs and services in the TLCC game room and other areas.
  • Serve as academic advisor in our Compass program and coordinate retention efforts among peer advisors in conjunction with the academic success center.
  • Administer EVERFI/Foundry alcohol and title ix compliance modules and oversee immunization paperwork.
  • Serve as Campus Life Coordinator for summer camps and conferences
  • Assist Residence Life with multiple data systems, information and processes.
  • As deputy conduct officer:
  • Select, train and coordinate the Student Conduct Board
  • participate in faculty-staff judicial board as needed.
  • Serve as trained Title IX investigator as needed
  • Aid the deans of students in responding to emergencies and urgent needs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in education, counseling, or similar field preferred
  • Experience with student conduct and student data systems like Maxient
  • Experience with academic coaching, counseling, mediation, and general helping skills
  • Experience with program development and execution
  • Interest in student development and learning in a small residential liberal arts setting
  • Understanding of residence life environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Excellent organization and administrative skills
  • Experience with staff supervision, development, and training
