Job Description

Professional Writing Tutor

This Writing Tutor position will serve as a Writing Fellow supporting upper-division Writing-Intentional courses in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Tutors in this position will work with students to become more confident and effective writers as they adapt to writing expectations in the Psychology major. Writing fellows work with students at any stage of their writing process through individual and group writing conferences. Writing fellows also maintain tutoring records, work with faculty to develop and present workshops, and mentor-newer tutors. When this position is not tutoring students taking upper-level Writing-Intentional courses in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, they will provide tutoring for students from all disciplines.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have successfully completed a BA in Education and at least one of the following courses:

• Teaching and Pedagogy for Early Childhood and Elementary Teachers
• Legal and Ethical Issues in Education
• Teaching and Pedagogy for Middle School and Secondary Teachers
• English Language Arts Methods for Early Childhood and Elementary Teachers
