Description:

The Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida, College of Medicine invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level (tenure track or non-tenure accruing clinical track). Primary responsibilities will involve service and clinical teaching in surgical pathology and cytopathology including Fine Needle Aspiration with ultrasound guidance of superficial lesions, as well as thyroid lesions. Fellowship training in cardiovascular and pulmonary (CVP) pathology or focus in CVP pathology is highly desirable. Primary responsibilities will also involve service and teaching with an emphasis in CVP pathology (cardiovascular, pulmonary, pleural and mediastinal diseases).

The UF Health/Shands affiliated institutions present a rich diversity of inpatient and outpatient clinical material. The successful applicant will contribute to medical student, resident and fellowship training in accredited programs within Pathology. 

 


Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must have an M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Board certification in Anatomic Pathology or AP/CP 
  • Eligible for or possess added certification in Cytopathology by the American Board of Pathology
  • Possess or be eligible for a Florida Medical license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fellowship training in cardiovascular and pulmonary (CVP) pathology or focus in CVP pathology.
  • Surgical pathology, additional subspecialty training
  • Cytopathology, including performance of Fine Needle Aspiration with ultrasound guidance of superficial lesions, as well as thyroid lesions.
