DescriptionJob Purpose: Develop, test, implement and maintain web-based applications asassigned within a campus unit. Troubleshoot website problems and issues and developsolutions and application improvements.

 Major Responsibilities:
  • Confer with unit management regarding web application content requirements and status.
  • Conduct web based application development and implementation consistent with unit needs.
  • Maintain assigned applications providing resolution of issues in a timely manner.
  • Respond to specialized needs of the unit relative to its website(s).
  • Maintain required documentation related to unit web applications.
  • Prepare and present status reports regarding web applications.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Work Experience: Four to six years job related experience
  • Certifications: N/A
  • Skills: This job requires working knowledge and skills in configuration and deployment of web applications including database design, web base scripting languages and web standards. Additionally, skills in presentation, customer service and problem solving are required.

  • Preferred Skills: Systems and job environment will house specific software applications and operating systems that are associated with additional specific skills that are preferred.  Knowledge of CSS and JavaScript.  Knowledge of Git.
  • Required Skills:  Demonstrated ability to learn languages and systems.  Proficiency in at least one common back-end language (Python, Ruby, etc. PHP preferred).  Understanding of databases (MySQL preferred).  Experience in an open source CMS (Drupal, WordPress, etc.).
  •  Additional Information: N/A Impact & Influence: This position will interact on a consistent basis with: managementand staff within assigned unit and personnel within the Office of InformationTechnology. This position typically will advise and counsel: management andstaff within assigned unit. This position will supervise: N/A
