TheDepartment of Computer Science and Engineering in the College of Engineering,Design and Computing at the University of Colorado Denver invites applications fortenure-track faculty positions at all ranks (assistant, associate, fullprofessor). Reporting to the Chair of the Computer Scienceand Engineering Department, this position will be expected to develop and teachlecture and laboratory courses at all levels, establish an active, externally-fundedresearch program; conduct high quality research involving students at alllevels, leading to sponsored research and refereed publications; advisestudents; and contribute to Department, College, and University governance andto the profession.

 

TheComputer Science and Engineering Department currently has eleven full-timefaculty members. The department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in ComputerScience, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science, a Master of Sciencedegree in Computer Science, and two multidisciplinary PhD degrees in ComputerScience and Information Systems and Engineering and Applied Science. The unitis fully accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology(ABET), Inc., and provides quality computer science education and researchopportunities to our students and quality professional service to theprofessional community and the general public in the Denver metropolitan area.The current strengths of the faculty are in the areas of algorithms, artificialintelligence, computer networks, cybersecurity, graphics, parallel anddistributed systems, cyber physical systems, data science, machine learning, andtheory. Our faculty are engaged in multidisciplinary research and encouragecollaborative research among disciplines. In addition to general computinglabs, the department houses several specialized research labs in graphics &VR/AR, Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), Active Cyber Infrastructure and Defense(ACID), Theory and Algorithms, Machine Learning (ML), networks (DECENT), BigData Management and Mining Laboratory (BDLab), and Parallel and Distributed Systems(PDS).

 

TheCollege of Engineering,Design and Computing takes pride in having a facultyof excellent scholars and engineering practitioners. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in computer science as evidenced by the candidate’s record
  • For appointments at therank of Associate Professor or Professor, a substantial nationally recognizedrecord of research, publication, teaching, and service meeting criteria for atenured faculty position at the University of Colorado will be required.
  •  Desired Qualifications:

    While candidates in all areas of computer science will be considered, the areas of cybersecurity, software engineering, artificial intelligence, robotics, cloud computing, mobile computing, HCI, and related field are preferred.
