Position Description:
The UCLA Prison Education Program (PEP) aims to encourage and support the formerly and currently incarcerated community. PEP is seeking a Program Administrator to help advance the PEP's mission and coordinate the development of both the Education Program and the Narratives of Freedom Oral History research project. The position is based in Los Angeles at the UCLA campus. PEP is an interdisciplinary project, composed of UCLA faculty from various departments and outside community partners, which will offer UCLA courses at Barry J. Nidorf Juvenile Hall (BJN, Camp Joseph Scott (CJS), California Institution for Women (CIW), Santa Fe, Central Juvenile Hall, and California Rehabilitation Center (CRC).
The Program Administrator will support UCLA faculty in develop the education program and the Narratives of Freedom project. They will coordinate between the various faculty committees and oversee the day-to-day logistics of the program. They will perform field/online research, assist faculty in the collection and evaluation of data, and other such activities as may assist the program's efforts. They will also lead Study Hall at the designated Facilities corresponding to the quarter.
The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, and established research experience. As the program is new and developing rapidly, the candidate will need flexibility in adjusting to new work related requirements as they arise.
