Position SummaryThe Center for Academic Excellence and Support (CAES) at the School of Professional Studies is seeking an Executive Director to direct the administration of the Center including operational activities and facilities, supervision of professional staff, and management of a large complex budget. The Executive Director will develop a new strategic vision and implementation plan for CAES that places faculty goals for classroom learning at the forefront of its efforts. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs, and in consultation with NYUSPS senior leadership, the Executive Director will lead strategic efforts that reposition CAES as the primary resource for full-time and part-time faculty advancement in online and in-person teaching /learning environments.  CAES focuses on faculty support as well as pedagogical excellence and innovation.  Its current mission is dedicated to unleashing curiosity, creativity and innovation in partnership with and as advocates who champion the faculty at SPS.  The CAES-faculty partnership recognizes and reimagines the relationship between teaching and learning in the pursuit of academic excellence.  The CAES team is committed to this mission with and for SPS faculty by striving for excellence in the four CAES pillars: learning design, faculty professional pathways, assessments of learning, and educational technologies.    Qualifications

Required Education:Master's Degree in Education or related area.Preferred Education:Doctoral Degree in Education or related fieldRequired Experience:10+ years administrative experience in higher education with a minimum of 3 years as lead administrator in academic support unit or academic department/program with direct oversight of personnel and budget. Experience crafting and executing strategic plans. Experience with new program design and assessment. Experience with in-person and online pedagogy and innovation.Preferred Experience:Teaching experience at a university/college level.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning excellence. Proven success with faculty buy-in and collaboration.
