MILLIKIN UNIVERSITY invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Music–Voice/Area Coordinator. Position begins August 2020. Completed doctorate required. Candidate will demonstrate leadership and vision for the voice area; evidence of successful teaching & administration; ability to attract and retain voice students; competent piano skills; understanding of and sensibility for voice students across a broad spectrum of majors. Primary responsibilities include: teaching a studio of undergraduate voice students, coordinating the voice area comprised of 250+ students and 12 faculty, and maintaining a symbiotic relationship with the choral program, School of Theater & Dance, and Opera Theater.

Expectations include engaging in recruitment and retention initiatives; university service in the form of faculty governance; and involvement with the campus community. Candidates demonstrating commitment to academic advising, entrepreneurship, and community outreach will receive strong consideration.

Millikin University School of Music has been NASM accredited since 1934, with a vibrant community of 50 faculty and 214 students, offering Bachelor of Music degrees in Performance, Music Education, Commercial Music, and Music Business, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music.
