The University of Virginia invites applications for a tenure-ineligible Open Rank Medical Physicist faculty position to provide clinical medical physics support to the Department of Radiation Oncology and its associated facilities. Clinical responsibilities entail the full suite of routine and specialized clinical medical physics activities including external beam and brachytherapy quality assurance, treatment plan checks, chart checks, patient quality assurance, and dosimetry consults. The faculty member will be expected to participate in departmental teaching and initiate and participate in advanced development projects which blend with other division activities. The following ranks will be considered for this position: Instructor (Non-Trainee), Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Education: M.S. degree or Ph.D. degree, completed by time of hire, in Medical Physics, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering
Certification: Qualified candidates must be board certified or board eligible (minimum ABR certification in progress) in Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).
Experience: Prior clinical medical physics experience is required. The ability to work in a team environment, leadership qualities, and problem-solving skills are highly valued.
