About Westchester Community College:
Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. The Buildings and Grounds Dept. seeks a part time incumbent to assist higher level maintenance staff with grounds maintenance. The incumbent will mow the lawns, plant, prune trees & shrubs, and remove debris. Assisting in weeding, cutting down trees, helping with the repair of potholes, and assembling park benches also required. Additional tasks to be assigned.
Required Qualifications: A high school or equivalency diploma is required. The successful candidate must also have experience with the use of lawn mowers, chain saws, and weed whackers.
Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in the operation of automotive equipment such as a tractor, truck or related equipment strongly preferred.
Hourly Rate of Pay: $13.25 per hour, no benefits.
Work Schedule: The work schedule will be up to 28 hours per week.
