Position Description:
As UCLA nears the completion of the Centennial Campaign for UCLA, research and teaching in the Humanities are as central to the campus mission as they always have been. The Division's esteemed faculty, specialized lecturers, talented graduate students, and dedicated staff carry on the age-old human project of interpreting the world's legacy of language, literature, and art and introducing it to new generations of young people, even in the midst of rapid technological change. Whether we are preparing students for success in their careers and fulfillment in their lives, or working to advance a rigorous scholarly understanding of cultural and artistic life in all its forms, this is the mission of the Humanities at UCLA: to put the human being at the center of our efforts, and to ensure that future generations will never lose touch with the sources of our common humanity. The ability provide support to the development team so they can raise substantial funds plays a vital role in keeping this mission in motion.

Serving as the administrative lead for the Division of Humanities Development team, the Administrative Assistant will be highly-organized and detail oriented with an excellent track record in delivering impeccable customer service, displaying strong verbal and written communication skills and possessing the demeanor and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a broad array of internal and external constituents. In this role, the Administrative Assistant will work on a high volume of gift processing duties to include drafting; editing and sending out gift acknowledge letters, ensuring that all phases of the process are organized and tracked. This individual will answer, screen and respond to calls and emails from donors, alumni, faculty, academic administrators as well as others within and beyond UCLA in a tactful and resourceful manner. This individual will also be responsible for organizing travel, processing expense reports, managing the complex calendar for the Executive Director, as well as other members of the Humanities Development team, establishing and maintaining prospect, donor and fund files, and updating/pulling data in the constituent relationship management system as well as coordinating meetings and events. In addition, the Administrative Assistant will also oversee special projects as requested.
