The School of Educational Studies at Claremont Graduate University (CGU) invites nominations and applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at assistant or associate rank to teach, advise and mentor its MA and PhD students, and to be a contributing member of the School community. The appointment will begin July 1, 2020.

We are seeking exceptional scholar mentors whose research and teaching contribute to the mission of the School. These are tenure-track graduate faculty positions, which carry teaching, research, and service responsibilities in the School and at the University.

Applicants should be highly qualified to assume primary teaching and advising duties in the School's K12 Education and Equity division. Priority will be given to applicants with one or more of the following areas of expertise: district/state/national educational policy; bilingual and/or immigrant education; assessment and evaluation; and cultivating success among underserved populations. Other areas of interest include curriculum and instruction; educational psychology; school reform and effectiveness; and school-community partnerships.

All faculty in the School should be able to teach classes related to research design and methods. As such, all applicants should have a solid understanding of foundational educational theories and research design/methods in order to mentor students conducting original master's and doctoral level research. 

Priority status will be given to applicants who have a strong national reputation for significant contributions to the field; who have a solid track record of working successfully with diverse graduate students; who have published with students; and who have contributed to camps life. A demonstrated record of extramural funding is a plus. Given these criteria, those who have not completed their doctoral programs will not typically be considered strong applicants.

Applications should consist of a cover letter, C.V., teaching statement, a one-page statement regarding ability to foster a diverse campus environment and contribute to the academic success of students from historically underrepresented communities, and the contact information for 3-5 professional references.
