Job Details
The Department of Political Science and Sociology invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sociology positions beginning August 2020.
While all areas of specialization will be considered, preference will be given to applicants whose teaching and research areas complement one or more of the following areas within the Sociology Program: 1) criminology/deviance, 2) health and medical sociology, 3) religion, 4) social psychology, 5) environmental sociology.
Interested candidates should demonstrate a willingness to teach across the discipline of sociology, including introductory courses, and topical courses related to their specializations. They must also be able to teach social theory and/or research methods. Faculty have a 4-4 course load. The ideal candidate will also have previous experience teaching both in person and online.
Minimum Education RequirementsBoth positions require a Ph.D. in Sociology by the time of the appointment. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but the positions require completion of all requirements by the date of appointment.
