Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):  

High School Diploma/G.E.D. (foreign equivalent or higher degree). One year of full-time experience directly related to the project or program to include experience in a laboratory environment. Technical knowledge as evidenced by coursework in Molecular Immunology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Molecular Diagnostics.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate's degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree) in Molecular Immunology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Molecular Diagnostics or another related field. Experience with a variety of advanced tests, procedures or techniques relative to the field.

 

Brief Description of Duties: 

Working under general supervision, the incumbent will perform a variety of routine and/or semi-skilled tasks to support and directly assist a research project or program for Dr. Hwan Kim in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, either in the laboratory or in the field. Therefore, the selected applicant will need to have a working knowledge of typical tests, procedures or techniques relative to the field as well as familiarity with the operation of specialized apparatus or equipment relative to the field.

The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving.

Working under general supervision of PI, observe and record data using techniques and devices. Assist in manuscript writing based on the guidance of senior lab members.

Responsible for lab and equipment maintenance and set up. Assist with maintaining compliance with environmental health and safety procedures by assembling, preparing, labeling and dispensing.

Take inventory.

Other duties or projects as assigned such as participate in weekly lab meetings.
