Job Summary
This position is responsible for supervising and participating in the maintenance and repair of campus/instructional site buildings.
Responsibilities Conducts daily visual or electronic inspections of facilities, HVAC units, plumbing, and lighting controls
Conducts monthly tests and inspections to verity the reliability of emergency generators, fire pumps, fire extinguishers, and elevators
Schedules and oversees contractors in the performance of repairs and upgrades
Trains, assigns, directs, and supervises the work of Maintenance personnel
Maintains electronic and hard copy files and records
Makes repairs to facilities and equipment
Issues keys to faculty and staff; maintains key inventory list
Meets with new and existing vendors and contractors to discuss new and improved products or services
Supervises employees in the Installation, adjustment, and repair of locks and lock hardware
Manages the duties of maintenance personnel to transport equipment between campuses
Responds to after-hours emergencies
Moves office furniture and hangs pictures
Installs parking lot signs and street bumpers
This role may be designated by the institution as a Position of Trust
Performs related duties as assigned by Director
This position requires the incumbent to be accessible by cell phone and other electronic means during and after regular business hours
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in field relevant to position and three to five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- 1-year experience supervising maintenance employees in an education environment
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
