General Summary Employees at this level are knowledgeable, highly skilled individuals who serve as resource persons for a wide range of payroll areas and have an in-depth knowledge of specialized areas. Duties follow procedures established by the University, Board of Trustees, State of Illinois, Illinois Department of Revenue, Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration, and other Federal and State organizations. Employees are responsible for providing direction and analysis for production support, data conversion, enhancement requests, implementation projects, and upgrades for multiple systems. Employees work under minimal supervision from the Accounting Associate.
Additional Information:
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Business, Accounting, or related field

OR

Three (3) years of progressively more responsible work experience in IT related profession.

AND

2. Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills with complex technical subjects and tasks.
3. Advanced level knowledge in PeopleSoft queries, Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Access, Word, Visio, etc.), and SharePoint.
4. Proficient in Microsoft VBA, SQL, AHK, HTML, CSS,and JQuery.
5. Ability to translate business, user, and system needs into functional requirements.
6. Analyze systems for potential security risks and exposure.
7. Ability to analyze large amounts of detailed information and summarize for presentation.
8. Ability to work with considerable latitude and independence of action.
9. Ability to work and collaborate effectively. Must be able to work as a team and with other departments and administrative offices.
10. Ability to translate business, user, and system needs into functional requirements.
11. Ability to work accurately with details while meeting critical deadlines.
12. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
13. Ability to tactfully handle sensitive and multifaceted issues.
14. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
15. Ability to handle late or unanticipated information to the payroll process and still complete duties on schedule.
16. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
