Description:

The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. The department focus in research and graduate training is on clinical translational research and includes research programs in precision medicine, pharmacogenomics, infectious diseases, and clinical pharmacology/drug metabolism. Appointment as an Associate Professor requires demonstrated sustained extramural grant support, research, scholarship, and teaching proficiency that are consistent with an appointment to that rank at a research-intensive university. Candidates at this level may also have the opportunity for a leadership position in the department. Candidates at the assistant professor level are expected to demonstrate strong potential for establishing a rigorous, independent and federally-funded research program.

The Center for Pharmacogenomics and Precision Medicine – located in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research – has a mission to improve drug therapy outcomes through research, teaching and service focused on genotype-guided drug therapy decision-making, drug discovery, and drug development. The Center is a leading institution in pharmacogenomics research and education.

The successful candidates may be associated with other Centers in the College, which include the Center for Natural Products, Drug Discovery and Development (CNPD3; pharmacy.ufl.edu/mc/research/research-centers/cnpd3/) and the Center for Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology (cpsp.pharmacy.ufl.edu). Additionally, the College is closely partnered with Centers, Institutes, and laboratories at UF, including the Southeast Center for Integrated Metabolomics (SECIM; secim.ufl.edu), and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (ctsi.ufl.edu).


Qualifications:

Minimum: The applicants are expected to have a doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D., Pharm.D.) with formal post-doctoral research training. Other requirements include a strong potential for or demonstrated success in securing competitive research funding and a record of accomplishments in research. Excellent communication skills are essential. FDLE Criminal Background Check Required.

Preferred: Previous teaching experience, demonstrated scholarship, and experience in mentoring students is preferred. Candidates with existing extramural funding to support their research are preferred.
