Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The PT Coordinator II, Admissions and Outreach facilitates daily operations within assigned area. Plans, coordinates and attends activities that promote Lone Start College and assists potential students with questions. Makes and communicates process decisions based on best practices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Coordinates daily operations of assigned area. Maintains records. Maintains current knowledge base of assigned area and acts as a point of contact for internal and external customers
  2. Coordinates various department and leadership calendars and schedules. Plans, schedules and coordinates various meetings/seminars/events, including site selection and preparation, marketing and training materials, and offers general support
  3. Attend community events in the Magnolia area to represent college, display program information and/or coach prospective students regarding their educational goals
  4. Assist student in completing admissions application and explain admissions checklist
  5. Assists with creating methods of evaluation of assigned area. Analyzes results and makes recommendations for revisions to objectives and strategies
  6. Creates and submits a variety of reports related to assigned area and presents findings. May make presentations to both internal and external customers
  7. Essential Functions’ main focus will be on the student experience. Areas generally involve (but are not limited to) student activities, tutoring and training, advising and counseling, transcript evaluation, enrollment, orientations, recruitment and outreach
  8. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent coordination/organizational skills in order to coordinate events with various groups
  • Average to intermediate computer skills
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities with the ability to prioritize duties
  • High level of customer service

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is mostly sedentary where the employee sits comfortably to do the work; However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $17.16
