Job Details
Characteristic responsibilities and duties include but not limited to:
•Collaborate with on-campus student employment supervisors on developing, posting, and marketing student employment opportunities.
•Update and maintain database of student employment postings including on-campus and off-campus (FWS) student employment positions.
•Ensure that work authorizations, payroll and federal employment eligibility forms are completed.
•Enter all student employment positions and accompanying data into Banner.
•Facilitate and authorize stipend pay to applicable student positions that do not constitute employment.
•Administer the appointment/re-appointment of Graduate Assistantship positions and associated compensation including tuition.
•Develop and maintain a student employment website, handbook and/or other educational resources for supervisors and students about the student employment system.
•Oversee and manage the University’s Federal Work-Study job placement, student award amounts and departmental budgets in collaboration with the Offices of Student Financial Services and Finance.
•Maintain relationships with community-based programs and agencies in the area to support the development of off-campus federal work study opportunities.
•Monitor FWS award usage by students and reconcile FWS student earnings with Student Financial Services and the Grants Manager in the Controller’s Office.
•Coordinate the Federal Work Study abandoned property process.
•Monitor percentage of participation in community service by FWS students as regulated by the federal government and develop related opportunities.
Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelors Degree Required
•Minimum 1- 2 years related work experience, preferably within payroll or HRIS processing.
•Proven ability to work within fast-paced deadline driven environment.
•Strong attention to detail.
•Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Knowledge of basic State and Federal Employment laws.
•Knowledge of Federal Work Study policies, procedures, and regulations.
•Experience working in higher education preferred.
•Demonstrated experience managing budgets and fiscal responsibilities.
•Experience cultivating relationships and communicating effectively, oral and written, with a broad range of constituencies.
•Prior experience working within an HRIS, preferably Ellucian Banner.
