Job Description

The overarching goal of this role is to provide cohesive, seamless financial management for University operations. The Manager of Administration and Finance (Manager) will oversee the non-clinical administrative and financial activities of the Division of TMHG in the Department of Medicine including the annual budget in grants, gifts, and endowments. The Manager will provide high level review of all TMHG research funding on a monthly basis, provide financial oversight and planning which includes the annual budget process, monitoring, managing, reporting and projecting expenses during the year and taking the lead to prevent or solve financial issues as they arise. The candidate will direct and manage business processes for faculty and personnel, collaborating with team members to ensure seamless management of faculty and non-faculty salaries; purchasing; budget administration; pre and post award grant administration, and day-to-day business operations. The incumbent will coordinate with pre- and post-award grant management staff to collate, process, and package financial information relevant to the Division and individual PIs. He or she will serve as the point person and project manager for complex financial arrangements such as allocation of clinical trials funds across multiple staff and faculty. He or she will partner with the Administration and Finance Officer to develop sound monitoring and reporting tools that integrate all aspects of University finance. Additional duties may also include oversight and tracking of business services: computing services; facilities management; recruitment; interfacing with a large number of collaborators in the US and globally, and overseeing SRAs and other financial transactions.

The Manager will report to the Administration and Finance Officer (AFO) for Penn Genetics and have an indirect reporting relationship the Chief Research Administrator for the Department of Medicine.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
