The Morgridge College of Education (MCE) at the University of Denver (DU) invites applications for an open rank, full-time tenure track position in the Child, Family, and School Psychology (CFSP) program within the Department of Teaching and Learning Sciences. This 9-month position begins on September 1, 2020.

We are seeking a colleague who is passionate about developing bold leaders and strong practitioners. Our program is dedicated to preparing professionals who are capable of promoting equitable access for children and their families in the areas of learning, behavior, and mental health. Our students learn to provide supports in schools, homes, and communities for individuals aged birth-21. A strong candidate will model educational and social equity through meaningful teaching, service, and scholarship activities. Our Department emphasizes the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, multicultural sensitivity, social justice, and competence. General Summary

A successful candidate will model educational and social equity through contributions to scholarly research, interdisciplinary collaboration, teaching in the MA, EdS, and PhD programs, and involvement in community-engaged service. We expect candidates to demonstrate a solid understanding of statistical and research methods, developmental, psychological, and learning theories, general and special education, and legal, ethical, and professional standards of practice. Professional competency in program evaluation, assessment, prevention, intervention, and consultation with family, school and community professionals is also anticipated. The EdS and the PhD Program are accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). The PhD program recently received accreditation on contingency by the American Psychological Association (APA).

Essential Functions

Scholarship: Engage in research and scholarship endeavors in their discipline.
Teaching: Teach CFSP practica and theory courses.
Service: Provide institutional and community service (program, college, and/or university committees, and community-engaged service).

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate in School Psychology or a closely related field by the start of the appointment.
  • Experience working in or with clinical settings with P-12 schools (e.g., practica, internship, employment).
  • Demonstration or promise of grant acquisition and funding.
  • A research record commiserate with rank.
  • A commitment to inclusive excellence, equity, and access in education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional School Psychologist licensure at the start of the appointment.
  • Teaching experience at the graduate level that includes knowledge of a variety of teaching methods, approaches, and/or curricular perspectives that effectively engage diverse populations and learning styles.
  • Knowledge of and experience with a variety of cognitive, academic, social-emotional, executive functioning, and early childhood assessments.
  • Knowledge of general and special education.
  • Knowledge of development of populations ages birth through 21.

Salary Range
Salary will be determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
