The Vice-Provost, Students oversees Enrolment Services, Student Life programs and services on the St. George Campus, student health and wellness, international student services and study abroad programs, and Hart House. The Office of the Vice-Provost, Students (OVPS) works closely with colleagues across the three campuses to enhance the student experience at the University of Toronto.

Your opportunity:

This role is part of a small, collaborative team within the Office of the Vice-Provost, Students in the Division of the Vice-President and Provost. As a student and policy focused team, we seek a candidate who wants to supports the Office through the provision of expert data analysis, and expertise in the interpretation and application of Provincial Government and University of Toronto non-academic policies and procedures affecting students and student organizations across the three campuses.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Running queries to gather data
  • Analyzing complex statistical reports and/or financial information for management decision-making
  • Designing presentations of data analysis findings
  • Developing and maintaining components of data auditing programs for quality assurance purposes
  • Updating and maintaining documented queries, analyses and reports
  • Leading the development and making recommendations for policy, procedures and best practices for the unit
  • Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
  • Conducting detailed data analysis to inform management decision making


CampusEssential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Six to seven years experience
  • Strong knowledge of Provincial public policy, demonstrated understanding of Provincial government structures and policy making processes, particularly those affecting Universities.
  • Data management and research experience
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a public policy environment
  • Working knowledge of Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Legislation
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office and software applications, proficiency with ROSI Data
  • Strong quantitative skills and knowledge as demonstrated by the ability to use a wide range of computer applications and in working with large data sets
