TheDepartment of Pathology and Department of Genetics, Cong Lab, seeks a LifeScience Technician 1

(LST-1) to assist with research projects in gene-editingtechnology development, cancer biology, and molecular medicine. The LST-1 willperform routine technical tasks in cellular and molecular biology. They willprepare aliquote reagents, molecular biology assays, maintain cell cultures, harvestcells and analyzing them using FACS, imaging, and sequencing. The LST-1 willalso assist in maintaining lab organization as needed.

Desire Qualifications:Approximately one year of previous laboratory experience in molecular and/or cellular biology is required. Basic technical writing beneficial but not required.Must be capable of and willing to pay strict attention to detail, including following written and oral instruction. Familiarity with the following experimental techniques preferred:
  • plasmid cloning
  • genomic DNA extraction
  • tissue culture
  • preparation of sequencing library
  • flow cytometry (FACS)
  • fluorescent microscopy and imaging
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to keep accurate records of experiments.
  • General understanding of scientific principles.
  • General computer skills and ability to quickly learn.
  • Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to accurately complete detailed work.
